Reader Lisa Velazquez mentioned the video below to me in her comment on my recent post about the Mercy Corps commercial I love. (Thanks, Lisa!)

The video, a TED talk by novelist Chimamanda Adichie, is called The Danger of a Single Story.

Since watching this video I’ve been asking myself the same question Lisa’s been asking herself:

Where do I hold a single story that prevents me from seeing the complete story of a person or a place?

Right now, I don’t have anything interesting or profound to say about this. Just that I’m really pondering this idea of the single story, the importance of recognizing our single stories, and what my personal single stories are.

What insights did you glean from the video?
