I just joined the Global Education Collaborative (they’re @GlobalEdNing on Twitter) and came across the First Day of School Project. I thought you might be interested in learning more about - or contributing to – this project. Here’s how teacher Samuel Fye describes it:
Hi all! I am working on a Wiki project entitled “The First Day of School Project.” Its aim is to look at how schools around the US and the world experience the first day of school. What fears, excitements, traditions, etc. do we have in common, and which are different?
The Wiki is ready to go, but not much is posted, since very few people have actually returned to school at this time. Currently, about 10 teachers have expresses an interest in the project. If you have already returned to school, I have no doubt that you could do the project retroactively.
Also, I am new to ALL of this, so any input you have is appreciated! Check it out and see what you think!
