We’ve been busy here at CulturallyTeaching. Planning, writing, preparing…we’ve got some exciting things ahead:
Next Week
It’s Schultüte Week! What’s a Schultüte?
I can’t tell you what a Schultüte is yet (check back on Monday to find out!) but I can tell you that in addition to learning about Schultüten next week, you’ll find a variety of cross-cultural resources teachers to use in the classroom.
September 17
A date I’m looking forward to. Counting down to. Picking out clothes for.
Why?
On September 17, I’m heading south – to Argentina!
It will be my first time in Argentina. And – as you can imagine - I’m excited!
The reason for my trip is to speak at the FAAPI conference. FAAPI is the conference for English teachers in Argentina. As a former German/EFL teacher, I’m so looking forward to hanging out with language folks for a few days.
And here’s the best part: the conference is in Bahia Blanca, where Pamela lives! (She’s presenting a workshop on using technology in the EFL classroom. It’s going to be awesome, so if you’re reading this and will be at FAAPI, be sure to attend Pamela’s session.)
After the conference, Pamela is taking me to school with her. After all of the converstions we’ve had about schools in Argentina, I’m looking forward to meeting her students and colleagues in person.
I’m going to take lots of pictures and videos, so I’ll share them with you in October when I’m back in North Carolina.
October/November
Two more things we’re planning for the coming months:
1. a contest
(well, we’re at least thinking about holding a contest)
2. a world-wide project
(that we’re currently developing and Pamela is beta-testing in Argentina)
Details to follow in the coming weeks!
We love connecting with our readers! Why not…
