Off to Bogota!

Tomorrow, I (Cate) stuff my packing cubes in my travel backpack and board a plane for Bogota, Colombia.

Growing up I knew close to nothing about Colombia (save Juan Valdez) and never imagined I’d have the opportunity to travel there. And until I started my current job, I don’t think I’d ever met anyone from Colombia (remember: I was a German teacher). But I feel I’ve gotten to know Colombia a little bit through the vibrant Colombian teachers I work with. I am unbelievably excited about this trip.

Why am I going to Bogota? To present at the AASSA (Association of American Schools in South America) conference. I’m giving 4 intercultural learning workshops there so it’s going to be a busy week! The conference is being held at the Colegio Nueva Granada, a K-12 international school. (I love that an educational conference is being held at a school instead of a hotel. All of my sessions will be in the high school library!)

As I mentioned, it’s going to be a very busy week. So we decided to take this opportunity to re-publish 4 of our most popular posts. Next week we’ll be back with all new content and — insert drum roll here — our first podcast!
